Throughout the years, the storage area under the basin has become moldy with algae, dirt and stains showing at the exterior and interior. The wood used has also started to decay and rot.

The owners wanted something that would be able to withstand / last longer under Singapore's warm and humid conditions. The solution is to install mini-aluminium windows with acrylic panels.

The new homeowners wanted to install a safety door / panel to prevent access to their kids of the washing and cleaning agents / chemicals etc. that will be stored here. As a result, basin windows with keylock were installed.

This project was a challenge when the client wanted to change her old, worn and dirty basin door. The orignial side walls supporting the basin is a slope and not the usual right angled structure.

The backyard kitchen of this landed property has direct sunlight everyday. Therefore, for a long-lasting solution, fiberglass panels were used instead of the usual acrylic ones which are more suited for indoor installations.
